Malacca Mayhem
Drove off to Malacca with Flo and Mom and spent an entire day there yesterday. Walked quite a lot and luckily, the weather was just fine. Not too sunny and it wasn't raining. The drive was only approximately 1 hour 15 mins if I'm not mistaken. (Malacca's pretty near after all!) It's been more than 10 years since we've last been to Malacca, which explained the excitement in us the minute we entered Malacca.
The things in Malacca are all so cheap that it makes you feel like buying almost everything (which was what the compulsive shopaholic friend did). Went to all sorts of places, did all sorts of stuffs and finally reached home nearing midnight.
A tiring but very well enjoyed trip :D
Upon reaching :D
The first place we visited!
Maritime/Samudera Museum (if I'm not mistaken, it's at Banda Hilir).
We had to take off our shoes before entering the museum.
Then we walked to Christ Church, one of those "you-have-to-go-there-to-say-you've-been-to-Malacca" place.
Ah, there's a Christ Church in Malaysia too...Funny.
Mom and Flo shopped from the very first stall till the very last one. Tsk. Shopaholics :P
At Fort A Famosa
There were street performers there singing and quite a few memorial stuffs here and there. Basically, it was just ruins of the Portuguese fortress built by Alfonso de Albuquerque which was passed on to the Dutch and then the British when they were in Malacca.
Ah, surprising how I could still remember things from our History textbooks.
Somehow, this looks misleading.
Us freaking out at Menara Taming Sari.
Paid a fee of RM 10 each and went on this "ride". Remember the Solero ride at Genting? Try imagining the exact thing, just that it doesn't plunge down. It ascends upwards and once it reaches the top which is 80 metres above the ground (trust me, it's freaking high up), it stays there and revolves 360 degrees for 7 minutes. From there, you can see the entire view of Malacca.
Bloody hell, things look so small from above. Flo was so freaked out she was so quiet (oh and trust me, those who knows her will know how different it is) and I was just shouting OH MY GOD OH MY GOD.
I'm acrophobic.
The cars look like those in Crazy Taxi (hahaha sorry!)
Perigi Hang Li Po!
I made them drive round and round searching for this well, don't ask why. Apparently, if you throw a coin into the well and make a wish, your wish will come true. It doesn't hurt to try :D
@ Jalan Laksamana
I somehow find this very funny.
In some shop in Jonker Street, waiting for the two shopaholics.
At Jonker Street!
See the woman behind us? She's really bitchy, seriously. Big time bitchy.
And that was our trip :D
Will definitely go back again for the cendol. It's so damn good. Oh, oh, and I bought a kaleidoscope. It was so pretty :3
The rest of the pics are in my Facebook album. :D
